With Internet technology you always have a server that contains the data and the program.
The server is accesible by all clients that are on the same local network. Using a login
and password, each user will have a specific access level, defined by the administrator.
If the server is also connected to the Internet, the server can be accessed by any
other computer that is also connected to the Internet. This means that you can have access
to your system from any place in the world, and that you can allow other people to access it
as well.
A firewall will be required to protect the server from attacks of hackers and/or viruses.
